RideTech's eCommerce

My main responsibility at RideTech initally was to rekindle web sales. From the moment I took control of the ecommerce store to a year later web sales drastically increased. At the moment web sales compared to total revenue is at the highest rate in company history. The ecommerce store is ran though a web software called CS-Cart which is a PHP and MySQL ecommerce software package. I did much editing to the code to meet the companies needs and was able to successfully design the store using Smarty (A PHP Template Engine) that the software uses for themes.

RideTech's CMS

Content creation was key at RideTech. In the pro-tour car and truck aftermarket there are constantly new events popping up and the closer the company is to the event the more traffic and exposure RideTech would receive. It is my responsibility to keep visiters informed by posting and reblogging events on our news site. It is also important we keep users up to date on new products and tech videos. Much of this was accomplished on several Wordpress sites that I help run. Using Wordpress I am able to quickly post new articles, pictures, and videos. After designing and handling several wordpress sites at RideTech, I have a very firm grasp on blogging and blog technologies (joomla, Tumblr, WordPress, etc).

RideTech's Social Media

Another way RideTech developed branding and company culture is through social media. RideTech is very connected to its customers by using social media sites like facebook, twitter, and youtube. I help oversee each account RideTech owns and I have been able to collect many followers on the way. However because of the older demographic of RideTech's market, much more communication is done through email rather than social media. To reach this older demographic I would, bi-monthly, create marketing emails to send out to our giant email database. I am also responsible for keeping dealers and outside media informed of new products and relevant stories they could reblog or rewrite in magazines.

Photography

Photography is my creative outlet and is my biggest hobby. I have been taking pictures for 8 years now and I find photography as a great way to keep my computer designs inspired by finding interesting artistic concepts in the real world. My photography talent has been very useful for RideTech since I supplied most of the product photography the company currently uses. You can find more examples of my photography work on Tumblr.

Graphic Design

I've created a lot of miscellaneous art projects, mostly for fun and some for school. I created many projects with software packages like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. In college I created several 3d renderings and animations and in my junior year in college I was apart of a team that created a short film called Rags and Roger that won awards at the college.

School Projects

In college I worked on several websites for school projects. Many which utilized many different web technologies like, XML, PHP, Javascript, AJAX, and more. Most of the sites were for demonstration only. For my senior project I worked with a team in writing a paper and testing the effectiveness of mobile applications and their relative use in retail. That paper can be found here.

Potter Portfolio

I've held this domain for around 3 years, and before it was my graphics portfolio it was my photography portfolio. I've made several websites for this domain in the past. However the current website is a straight forward design and is W3C valid (like all of my code). If you want to download a copy of this site and see a small taste of my code writing, click here.
